Early, early, early (did I say early?) exit polls in MD and VA show democratic leads in the Senate races.

what a poor choice of framing for this shot…..

weekend recap

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

Well, my Mom and Dad came up this weekend to visit, and it was very nice. We went to Sushi Sono for lunch on Saturday (they drove up that morning) and then went to the mall to hit Noah’s favorite stores (Disney and Build-A-Bear) and he insisted we go to “Daddy’s store” (i.e. the Apple Store). He then went to ride the carousel, which is always a blast. We then went home to take a load off and watch football before dinner, which was corned beef brisket, potato wedges and coleslaw, all very yummy. Mom and Em went to a scrapbooking party at Jennifer’s place, and Dad and I stayed with Noah. Noah forced Dad to take him through the nighttime ritual, which was great. Dad and I then watched the VT game, where we pounced Southern Miss 36-6. They watched him this morning while Em and I slept in, and he was a hoot all weekend long. He also ended up getting a Donald and Daisy Duck from the Disney Store, a Batman from their trip to Busch Gardens a little while back, and a dancing and singing Ghost for Halloween, so he made out like a bandit. The cutest thing though when they left, and I shut the door, he whiningly said “I want them back!”. He loves his Gammy and Gingdaddy!

Ok, off to finish some work before bed. Some funny things are below the cut.

Katherine Harris is off her rocker

Monday, August 28th, 2006

OK, for those ultra conservatives out there, you might want to stop reading this now:

Katherine Harris, U.S. Rep from FL, is insane.  Don’t believe me?  Read for yourself:

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/08/28/senate.harris.ap/index.html

My favorite parts…

…separating religion and politics is “wrong because God is the one who chooses our rulers.”

That’s funny, what district is he registered in? Does Diebold make a voting booth that large?  Does he have an electoral college vote?

“If you’re not electing Christians, then in essence you are going to legislate sin,” Harris said.

Not only does she piss off the people that Americans usually piss off, she throws in everyone else while she’s at it.  Classic.

Her comments drew criticism, including some from fellow Republicans, who called them offensive and not representative of the party.

This should be translated as:  fellow Republicans saw the shitstorm coming and got the hell out of dodge.  Number one rule of politics, protect your own ass.

Granted, I’m no fan of the woman after that FL voting debacle.  But seriously.  Insane.  In the Membrane

another 4 sad years

Thursday, November 4th, 2004

Well, Canada looks better and better everyday. As one comic I read pointed out, there’s only 1461 days until the next election. Sadly, that’s the good news. Well at least I’m still in a blue state :)

voting day

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2004

Well, I voted earlier today, punching the box for Kerry/Edwards. Not that I think it was needed, but it should help MD go to Kerry.

The word right now is that VA - a state known to be very Republican - is too close to call, which is shocking. Bush won by roughly 10 points last time round, so it’s odd to hear a too close to call, since the polls have been closed for almost 40 minutes now. Could VA go blue?

Update 9 PMish: NBC is projecting VA to go red. Oh well. :)

Tuesday frightens me

I don’t comment on politics much publically, so I’ll let Kickaha’s LJ entry say it all

http://www.livejournal.com/~kickaha/46503.html

Scary isn’t it?

They say most undecides break for the challenger, and since the polls this time around are much closer than 2000, let’s hope Kerry gets that extra surge he needs……

Even Noah is rooting for him

:)
